Phosphate monomers can form salts with amines, consuming amine hardeners or weakening amine-synergist photoinitiation. Zinc oxide, calcium carbonate and some alkaline pigment pastes may cause thickening, gelling or loss of function.
P-OH also reacts with NCO, so direct addition to isocyanate-cured systems is not recommended. Cationic cure lacks the free-radical copolymer network expected by an acrylate monomer and should be redesigned separately.
If coexistence is unavoidable, place the phosphate in a phase or primer free of conflicting components, then verify isolation through storage and performance tests.
Note: compatibility conclusions depend on component ratios, addition order and storage conditions.
